Working Principle Of Plasma Rectifier

Plasma rectifier is a device that converts AC to DC, and its working principle is based on the conductivity of plasma. Here is the working principle of plasma rectifier:

• Plasma generation: The plasma used in plasma rectifier is usually gas, and the gas can be excited into plasma by applying high voltage electric field or high temperature. Plasma consists of ions with positive charge and free electrons with negative charge, and has good conductivity.

• Discharge path: In the plasma rectifier, the AC input current passes through a solid-state switch control circuit, and the AC voltage is switched to a high-frequency pulse voltage through a switcher and transmitted to the discharge electrode. The discharge electrode transmits the high-frequency pulse voltage to the plasma, so that the plasma is excited and discharge occurs.

• Rectification effect: When the plasma discharges, the ions and electrons will be affected by the electric field force, so that they move in the electric field and collide with gas molecules to produce secondary electrons and ions. These secondary electrons and ions are accelerated to the electrode again to form a current. Through this discharge effect, AC power is converted into DC current.

• Output: The DC current after rectification and conversion will be output to the load circuit for use by electronic equipment.
